Missions Team

HEARTS IN SERVICE (H.I.S.)
Hearts In Service is a group from our church that seeks to meet needs for those who are unable in our congregation and community.  We can do everything from cleaning and changing lightbulbs to home repair and construction.  If you know of someone in need, or would like to be on the contact list of project volunteers, please fill out our HEARTS IN SERVICE FORM.

Manna House
We have several adults who volunteer at our local food bank, Manna House, regularly.  Our church is also responsible for collecting Green Bean Donations every month.  Donations can be dropped off at the Church Office or in the Narthex before worship.

Drives
Through out the year we have drives for things that are in need in the community and around the world.  We collect school supplies and uniforms at the beginning of the school year, UMCOR relief kits when natural disasters strike, money for Nothing But Nets and World Vision and many other projects through out the year.

Gladewater Faith Housing
Our church has been involved in Habitat building projects for years in our community.  New build projects are done as funds are available and needs are evaluated.  Look for information regarding new projects.

Aluminum Can Collection
We also help collect cans that go to help Habitat For Humanity buy supplies as well.  You can drop them off at the church on the first Sunday of the month, or take them to the the ReStore in Longivew, TX located here.

New Gate Mission
We volunteer through out the year at New Gate Mission in Longview, TX.  We have groups that go over a prepare breakfast for the people in need in the community.  We'll be posting a schedule below to help you keep up with when those dates are.  Please contact Cassie Roberts or Nancy Edwards for more information.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Beginning in 2009, we started hosting an annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner for those who are hungry or lonely during the holiday.  We host this at our Christian Life Center on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Adult Summer Mission Trip
Every summer we take an adult (high school and up) mission trip.  We are in our third year of doing this.  Our first year we went to Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico and worked on a parsonage for one of the United Methodist Churches there.  Last year we we to Spirit Lake, North Dakota, an Indian Reservation of the Dakota Sioux Indians at the Spirit Lake Ministry Center.  There we worked  on houses of the reservation in need and helped with the ongoing project of building a ministry center there.  This year we will be returning to Spirit Lake and are very excited.  Look for more information here about dates, payment plans, and fundraiser that will help support our trip.

SPONSOR A CHILD
Sponsor a Child and make a difference
Sponsor a child in a poverty stricken nation through World Vision today.  World Vision is a world renown organization that provides basic need and the love of Christ to people in need.  The cost is $35.00 a month.  For what it costs to take your family out to eat one or two times, you could provide all the basic needs for a child (food, water, shelter, education).  Please consider it today.  Click on the logo above or pick up a sponsor ship form at locations around the church.
